I Chose Wedding Tags Instead Of Favor Boxes

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

Even though there were so many beautiful favor boxes to choose from, I decided to go with wedding tags on all the favors gifts. The wedding favors I chose for our friends and family were so lovely that I felt they would look better out of the box. They really added to my table décor. We had a beach wedding and the wedding favors I picked out for everyone was glass beach themed tealight holders and they were just too lovely to hide in boxes. With sand and seashells inside, it was the perfect decoration for my reception tables too.

I’m so glad I decided to go with the beach themed wedding and reception. It was so beautiful, and I’ve got all the pictures in my beach themed wedding album to prove it. Not only was the reception a lot of fun, but the ceremony itself was fantasticly gorgeous with the sand and surf as our background and a nice warm breeze to add to the ambience of the whole thing. I found a lot of beach wedding accessories for my reception, starting  with beach themed wedding invitations and ending with the perfect favors and wedding favor tag. Even our gorgeous wedding cake topper was especially made for an ocean side reception, and matched up so well with all the other lovely beach themed decorations we had for our beach party celebration. There was lots of great music and dancing, with several types of seafoods and salads for everyone to enjoy.

What better way to celebrate with friends and family than with an evening by the ocean, swimming, dancing and just have a great time? It was like a tropical paradise right here at home. Everyone was told to bring along comfortable clothing and many of our guests brought their swim suits and some were in shorts and flip flops. This was so much better than being all dressed up in uncomfortable clothes and heels for the whole evening. It was such a relaxed atmosphere, just like a big beach party should be.

My fiance took care of renting the beach area and making sure we had everything we needed, from a place to change, to the set up of our tables. He was such a big help on planning this reception, he even arranged for us to have a big bonfire right on the beach. It was so fantastic. Our first dance as bride and groom was even more romantic with the moon shining on the water, it was almost as if we were the only two people there.

I knew a beach themed wedding and reception would be special, but I had no idea just how special. Our tables looked just as elegant as if they were in a big reception hall. Our tables were done up beautifully, with crystal champagne glasses with seashell stems, our centerpieces were little sandcastles, and there were floating candles and we had tiki torches everywhere. It was absolutely wonderful. Our little tag favors we had for our friends and family’s thank you gifts, really added to the décor of our beach themed table settings, and our guests seemed really impressed with it all.

We were having such a great time, it was hard to leave it all behind, even though we were leaving for our honeymoon. But I do have a lot of pictures to help me remember the most perfect day of my life. I hope someday to renew our vows for one of our anniversaries and when we do, I would like for it to be another beach ceremony and reception just like this. I can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate an anniversary.

You Can Have Your Pick Of Wedding Favors

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

The list of wedding favors ideas is growing everyday. From beautiful crystal and glass items to lovely candles and picture frames. There is such a wide range of gifts for wedding guests these days, that it would be really hard not to find the perfect choice for your friends and family. Although this may surprise you, one of the most popular favors today has become coffee and tea favors. There are decorative coffee and tea cups, rich gourmet coffee blends in little packages and even candles with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, which is a fragrance every coffee lover enjoys. Or maybe you could choose lovely tea bag caddies or tea infusors for the tea lovers in the crowd.

Another tasty and popular suggestion is chocolates. Little chocolate candies packaged in decorative favor boxes not only make an enjoyable gift for your guests, but add to the decor of your tables.  Almost everyone enjoys the taste of rich, lucious chocolate treats.

Your friends and family are there to share in your special day and to show their support for you and your fiance. They watch you walk down the aisle to the altar and listen to your vows of devotion, they share one of the most important days of your life and the wedding gifts you give to them is a show of your appreciation. Your guests are very special and the favors you choose for them should be just as special. Personalizing your gifts for your guests is an extra little way of showing how much you care. Having your names and the date of your wedding not only shows your gratitude for sharing your special day with you, but also helps them to remember the date of this happy occasion, and bring back memories of the wonderful time they had at your reception. I have a few wedding favors from receptions and parties that I have attended, which is lucky for me, since I’m so terrible with dates, one of these personalized favors helps me to remember my sister in laws wedding anniversary. I always remember the month, but the actual date usually escapes me.

There are so many options for gifts for your friends and family. If you are planning a themed wedding and reception, that’s no problem, there are so many themed favors to check out. There are country western favors, beautiful winter wonderland gifts, and fantastic beach themed favors that your guests would love to receive. There are also some very nice gifts for Asian, Irish and other ethnic weddings. My favorite wedding gift favor was a gorgeous little snowglobe that I received at a most beautiful winter wonderland wedding. It’s so adorable and means a lot to me. It sits on my living room book case and is a reminder of the fantastic time we shared with our friends.

Also, remember your maid of honor, bridesmaids, groomsmen, best man and others that were a part of wedding ceremony. You want to give them each something special as a show of gratitude for all they’ve done to make your special day go as planned.  You can also find adorable gifts for that precious little flower girl and handsome little ring boy you chose to be in your ceremony. You know the old saying “ It’s the thought that counts?” Well, that’s very true, so it is important that you put a lot of thought into the gifts you choose for your friends and family that take part in one of the most important days of you life.

From Wedding Décor To Favor Boxes

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

You have everything to match up perfectly for your wedding ceremony, right? Your bridesmaids dresses compliment the brides beautiful wedding gown and the colors you’ve decided on all work together to make your ceremony absolutely gorgeous. It should be the same for your reception too. From the cake decorations to the wedding favors each item should compliment the other. If you have a theme to work with it can be a lot easier to set the perfect mood you’re going for. Once you’ve decided on the theme you want, you can find just about anything you need to make your dream wedding happen.

There are lots of choices when it comes to finding a décor that’s right for you and your fiance. There is the traditional and there are also seasonal themes you can choose from, which many couples use today. In the summer, the most popular of these are the beach weddings and receptions. There are many accessories and reception supplies you can find to turn your reception into a super beach party and your wedding ceremony into an ocean side paradise. From the altar to the favor boxes you place on your reception tables, you can find exactly what you’re looking for. Garden weddings are also very popular, with all the bridesmaids and your little flower girl in sun hats and beautiful spring colored dresses with flowers everywhere in the background.

Perhaps you’ve decided on a winter wonderland theme, with snowflakes hanging from the ceiling of your reception hall. Maybe even a christmas tree or two with the bride and grooms gifts placed decoratively underneath. There are plenty of available ideas for the perfect seasonal wedding and reception. You can even buy fake snow which you can line the window sills of the church with and place some around the altar for that perfect winter scene. Little white christmas lights also add to the ambiance.

Maybe a more down home style is what you’re looking for, like a country western affair with picnic tables, checkered table cloths and some great country cuisine. Barbecues are one suggestion for country western receptions. You may even be able to find a farm that you can rent for the occasion or perhaps you know someone that would let you use theirs. You can have hayrides, line dancing, and great foods like barbecued ribs, chicken and steaks. Metal watering cans with wildflowers as your centerpieces also adds a nice touch to the country setting. This is my favorite theme because there is just so much you can do with it, from the cake topper to the wedding favor boxes you can find everything country western for your tables.

Thinking about a ceremony and reception with a touch of the mysterious orient? There are such lovely asian themed wedding accessories and supplies to help you get the feel of the beauty and and grace the orient holds. Items with gorgeous oriental designs and lovely fabrics of the far east. Maybe you want a wedding and reception with a touch of leprechaun and clovers. There are many great choices for the perfect Irish wedding too, with lovely wedding guest books to wedding favors that have the celtic touch, with trinity knots and claddaugh designs.

No matter what theme you are thinking about, from Valentines to storybook weddings or if you just want that traditional romantic ceremony and reception, brides to be have so much to work with to make their dream wedding come true. There is everything available from church decorations to party favor boxes at your disposal, in almost any theme you desire. There’s no reason why a bride today can’t have any wedding theme she wants.

A Wedding Favor I Can Actually Use

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Everything was very impressive at her ceremony and reception. You could tell that this bride put a lot of thought into everything she planned. The wedding ceremony was really special with lots of candles and flowers all around. Along with their unity candle there were lovley taper candles and holders around the altar and since the ceremony took place in the early evening, the sun was setting and made the whole thing look like a candle light service.  The bride looked so regal as she made her way down the aisle, on her father’s arm, to join her anxious groom at the altar.

After the ceremony the newly married couple made their way down the aisle and out to their car as we tossed confetti that was given to us as we entered the church. Then they were on their way to the reception. And so were we.

She did a fantastic job with the wedding table decorations. Each and every table was so elegantly prepared with crystal champagne flutes, wine glasses and the most adorable place card holders you’ve ever seen. I was so happy to find out we could keep them after the reception. That was a first for me. Their wedding cake was a work of art. It was a white cake with lemon filling and covered in white icing with drippings of yellow down each layer. The wedding cake decorations were beautiful, with yellow, blue and pink floral pattern circleing each layer. The wedding cake topper was made of crystal and shined as much as the rest of her bridal table.

On the reception tables for her guests, along with the beautiful glassware and china, she had the loviest favor boxes setting right next to our place card holders. The boxes were made of porcelain and came with a personalized hang tag for each and everyone of us. The favor boxes themselves would make a wonderful keepsake all by itself. But they had given us lovely little floating candles as favors. I not only got a wedding favor I can actually get some use out of, but an added décoration for my living room shelf. It really was quite special, as was everything at her ceremony and reception.

On each and every reception table was a very tall vase filled with long stemed flowers that she had as the wedding center pieces. It felt as if we were all setting under a tree filled with the aromatic atmosphere of a well endowed garden. I’ve never seen such lovely flowers as these. I know she received many compliments on the beautiful reception she had planned, and they were well deserved.

After they had their traditional bride and groom dance together, everyone was on the dance floor enjoying the terrific music the band was playing. It was a lot of fun. There was even some line dancing, which I had to get into. The party lasted three or four hours after the happy couple made their exit. With all the food and music they had, no one seemed ready to go home in a hurry.

When I did get home that night, I put my little porcelain favor box and my beautiful floating candle on the shelf in my living room.  It looks so nice next to all the mementos of other weddings, showers and christening parties I’ve been too.  I’m getting myself quite a collection started. In four months, there’s another wedding I’m attending. It will be my own wedding and reception, and I intend to buy an extra wedding favor just for me and add that to my collection of happy moments.

Luck Of The Irish Bridesmaid Gifts

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I went to my first Irish wedding and reception last month and I must say, I had a fantastic time. I haven’t laughed so hard or dance so much in ages. The Irish sure do know how to party. The ceremony was really beautiful with all the bridesmaids in very pale blue dresses with shawls in just a little darker blue, covering their shoulders. I kinda expected them to be wearing green, since everyone knows that’s an Irish color, at least on St. Patricks day.  But I found out that it is considered bad luck to wear green on your wedding day, something about invoking the fairies. The bouquets were lovely, each bouquet, including the brides had tiny little green clovers among a mixture of colorful flowers. The bride wore a gorgeous blue gown, which I understand is suppose to be a symbol of purity for Irish brides. There were special little celtic knots embroidered all around the hemline. She also had a beautiful tiara with a lovely long veil. The wedding was really special and everything was so spectacular.

At the reception her tables were so elegant with all the silver candle holders and crystal champagne flutes. The wedding cake was really gorgeous too, and so big, with a beautiful celtic claddaugh cake topper. All the gifts they bought for the wedding party were nice too. The bridesmaid gifts were lovely necklaces with shamrocks, and they looked like they cost a pretty penny.  They weren’t what you would call cheap bridesmaid gifts. In fact everything looked as if they would be in debt for the rest of their married lives. Later on at the reception when everything calmed down, I got a chance to talk to the bride, which is a good friend of mine and asked her how in the world she pulled off such a fantastic wedding and reception.  We work in the same place, so I know what kind of salary she has and I know the groom just started a new job, so he couldn’t have all that much either. I know it was probably a rude question to ask her, but we are close enough to talk to each other about things like this.  She told me that she got almost everything for her wedding and reception online and at some pretty decent discounts. I couldn’t believe that, from the wedding favors to the bridesmaids gifts it looked a lot more expensive than it actually was. I was really amazed. If I ever decide to take the plunge and get married, I’ll have to remember where to go for all my wedding and reception supplies.

The rest of the evening went great and everyone attending had a fantastic time. There was lots of terrific foods, champagne, and green beer for everyone to have a super party. We danced and laughed until way into the night and sang a lot of old Irish songs, some that made you want to cry. There was one couple there that knew some Irish dances and we were all trying our best to keep up with all the steps, but it wasn’t easy. The bride and groom looked so lovely on the dance floor as they danced their first dance together as husband and wife. But before long it was time for the happy couple to leave for their honeymoon in land of leprechauns and four leaf clovers. This was one of the most spectacular weddings and receptions I’ve ever been too, and it will certainly stay in my mind and heart for a long, long time.
