The day we went shopping for her communion dress I couldn’t help but think of the day when we’ll be shopping for her wedding gown. I know that day isn’t as far ahead of us as I would like it to be. Her radiant dress and veil made her look so much like a miniature bride. I suppose planning a party for her communion isn’t all that different from the someday wedding reception I’ll be helping her to plan. Just like at a reception, there was the decorated cake, a band for dancing and foods of all kinds to enjoy. We didn’t want to lose the fact of the importance of this special day, but we also wanted to make this party a memorable one. With all the pictures we took at her communion party, I’m so glad we decided to make the pink photo album an extra little communion gift for her. Like I said before we wanted to keep things as simple as possible and not go overboard, so me and some of the other moms made the food, and the only thing I ordered for it was the cake. There were at least four different kinds of salads, including a great tasting potato salad, and vegetable dishes, fried chicken and more. Our family and some of our closest friends enjoyed this pleasant afternoon with us. This party really meant a lot to our daughter and all of us had such a lovely time. We bought our daughter a very unique gold cross and had her name put on it, and she got some very exquisite gifts from our friends and family too.

I couldn’t help but feel that this was a practice run for her wedding and reception. I know that day is not so far away and we will be sitting down checking out the online selection for wedding favors and accessories. At least when it does come to that, I’ll know where to send her for her wedding supplies and accessories for her reception.
