The array of jewelry boxes can be decked out in a plethora of styles and colors. For her wedding day, my daughter got her bridesmaids jewelry boxes, and one for herself as well. In fact, she found even more than that when she went shopping online for all of her wedding accessories and reception supplies. They have some pretty suggestions for wedding decors, from traditional to themed. The décor my daughter and her groom went with had a fairy tale look and feel to it. They pulled it off in stunning fashion, her with long flowing veil and him with his extravagant tuxedo. The ceremony was delightful. After the ceremony was over my daughter and son in law left the church in grand style with a horse drawn buggy and a driver dressed in a top hat and tails.
We all met at the reception hall which she had neatly decorated with lovely flower vases and tulle draped in a carousel fashion with little white twinkling lights. An arch with green plants and red and white roses climbing up an arch stood behind the newlyweds’ table, while the wedding guests had at their tables an exquisite bouquet of flowers with sparkles that shimmered silver. For place card holders she found these silver dove tea light holders that really added glimmer to her settings. All the lady guests received small jewelry boxes with sculpted flowers and little crystals to add to its charm. The men were given little key chains with the well known frog prince as a charm. The wooden, silver-plated, cheap jewelry boxes that each of the bridesmaids received had a black velvet lining. The date of the wedding and name of the happy couple were inscribed in the boxes. The thank you gift my daughter gave the girls was very warmly received. The cheap jewelry box I saw looked like an extremely expensive jewelry box! The men each got a commemorative inscription in a small plaque and a set of wine related gifts. I felt those were novel thank you gift ideas.
Her wedding cake topper was a really unique little dream castle that really showed off the radiance of their three tiered wedding cake. My daughter picked out champagne flutes and a cake serving set to tie in with the fairytale-themed cake. Many of her decorations and supplies were top of the line, but she came in well below where I had expected on their wedding budget. As mother and father of the bride, we felt obligated to cover the cost of the wedding, but they were adamant about not accepting our assistance.
I felt the warm tears flow down my face as the two of them gracefully floated around the floor for their first dance. It was as if I were watching the real prince and princess in the Cinderella story dancing together. We had a fantastic time at the reception and the garter toss was unbelievably funny, with all the guys pushing and shoving each other out of the way so they could be the one to catch Cinderellas garter. My daughter’s wedding day was as magical as she imagined it would be, and the whole thing was so special. They are off on their honeymoon, and I’m certain that it will be every bit as fantastic as the wedding. I can hardly wait for them to get back and tell me all about the fantastic sights they saw.

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Getting the products I needed for the ceremony and reception required some thought, but as I turned my attention to getting a present for my bridesmaids, it dawned on me that I had a long ways to go yet. I had a really difficult time finding exactly what I wanted to get for them. I went online and there are quite a few gifts for bridesmaids and all that attend the reception. Trying to select just the right one is where it got difficult. I found some bargains on thank you presents, too. I also saved a lot of money on my wedding accessories, like the 8 piece wedding set that had my guestbook and pen, flower basket, ring pillow and more. That was a big savings. They were a lot cheaper as a set than they would have been if I would have purchased them individually.
I was just browsing through possible thank you presents when I finally came across something the women standing up for my wedding would like: a beautifully adorned jewelry box. Really, there were multiple wedding jewelry boxes that were very fancy. The choices for what to get my bridesmaids were so many that I finally just went back to planning the rest of the wedding because my head was spinning. I still had to get supplies and accessories for the reception even though the wedding ceremony was all but taken care of. I didn’t have my wedding cake topper yet, nor did I have the wedding favors for my friends and family, so that’s where I went next. I picked out some really cute bride and groom salt and pepper shakers and chrome bottle openers shaped like doves. Normally, I would have gotten some containers for the chrome openers, but the boxes they came in were so cute that I just went with those. The groomsmen all got a Swiss Army Knife type things from my groom, complete with a file and cork screw.
We got a figurine of a bride and groom holding each other to put at the top of our cake. I looked at several different styles, and almost bought the monogram cake topper with silver brushed initials and crystals, but I fell for the embracing couple instead. I had put it off while I took care of buying the rest of the supplies we’d need, but it was time at last to select a gift for the women standing up in my wedding. They each got a leather jewelry boxes, and inside of it was some unique wedding jewelry. I chose a ravishing rhinestone bracelet for all of them. It was just perfect for them even though it probably sounds like a bit much. The volume of options in discount wedding jewelry was so great, and so good, that I got them some of that and saved a little cash in the process. The pearl wedding jewelry I picked out to wear at my wedding was from the same spot. The quality of the jewelry is top-notch, and the prices are deeply discounted. The girls really loved their thank you gifts and I guess the guys were happy with what my fiance chose for them too.
It turned out to be the best day of my life and we all had such a great time at the reception. My single sister caught the bouquet and my brother in law was the winner at the garter toss. I wonder if this could be the start of something big? Who knows, maybe one day they will be in our spot and my sister would then be my sister in law as well, that’s really weird. Anything is possible!
