A theme wedding is my favorite. They truly can be a lot of fun. I just went to one of the best weddings and receptions I’ve ever attended. The ceremony and reception was done in country western.
They chose a small country church to hold the wedding ceremony. They had satin bows and ribbon to decorate the pews and beautiful flower arrangements with candles all around the altar. The baby blue dresses that the bridesmaids and flower girl wore were simply gorgeous, and the flowered hair pieces were a lovely added touch. The tuxes with the white boutonnieres in the lapels made the groomsmen and the little ring boy looked quite handsome. But all eyes were focused on the elegant bride and groom. They made such a handsome couple. When the ceremony ended the happy couple left for the reception in a horse drawn buggy.
The couple had purchased a nice little ranch outside of town and that’s where they decided to have their reception. What a gorgeous place they had with a beautiful house and horse barn on two acres. I hate to admit it, but I’m a little jealous of all they have accomplished just starting out.
You could tell she put a lot of effort into planning this reception. It was absolutely perfect. All the tables had red and white checkered table cloths, with little metal buckets of wildflowers in them. She did a fantastic job, not just with the décor, but also the themed weddings. There were strings of white christmas lights all around the picnic tables, with a few old fashioned lanterns here and there. The corn stalks and bales of hay really made this the perfect picture of a down home reception. They had things for the children to do so they could have as good a time as the grown ups. My husband and I did a little dancing while some played horse shoes or gave apple bobbing a try. We were all having a fantastic time.
They had a gorgeous cake with a funny country western cake topper that gave everyone a good laugh. The cutest cake topper I’ve ever seen. The western themed champagne flutes were really unique. There were also adorable little cowboy hats were the place card holders for every guest. Everyone thought they were so cute.
There was plenty of delicious foods for everyone at the party. They grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, mostly for the kids, and steaks, ribs, and chicken for the adults, with choice of salads and vegetables. There was more than enough to eat. The fun never stopped, we danced, ate great foods, and had a fantastic time. The country western theme was a blast.
Another fun reception is a beach party reception. A beach wedding ceremony is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. You can feel the romance in the air as the sun sets on the horizon. With the feel of warm breezes and the sounds of the water, you can feel the romance in the air. On my wedding day, I want to have a wedding ceremony just like this one.
It was such a relaxed ceremony, with all wedding party and beautiful summer dresses and beach wear. Her gorgeous crepe bridal dress was as blue as the ocean waters, and his white linen attire made him even more handsome than he already was. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect ceremony than this wonderful dream wedding.
Not only was the ceremony fantastic, but the reception was exceptional too. Everything for her table décor had something to do with the oceanside. She had a wonderful idea for centerpieces, with seashells, starfish and orchids surrounding two large white candles in a tray of sand. She had the most adorable sea shell place card holders and beautiful beach themed champagne glasses on all her tables.
Her beach décor was fabulous and she had everything from a beach cake topper to theme wedding favors that worked perfectly. This was a ceremony and reception I will never forget.

Thursday, November 26th, 2009Cheap sweet sixteen favors for my daughter!
Thursday, November 26th, 2009My daughter is turning sixteen and I was looking for some unique ideas for her party. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So I decided to give it a try. I couldn’t believe all the nice table accessories and party favors that were available. There were a lot of accessories I found that would be perfect for her party. I was able to make cookies in the shape of the number 16 as one of the snacks for her party with the cookie cutters I ordered.
Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It was a lot cheaper than I figured it would be. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.
When I was searching the web for birthday ideas, I ordered a few other things besides the cookie cutters. Since I was getting by so cheap with this party, I ordered extra gifts from the selection of sweet sixteen favors for her and her friends. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.
Another party favor was a cosmetic bag with their first initial printed on the front. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. I bought festive little favor boxes and filled them with candies for each of the girls. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen idea and watch her open her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They turned on some of their music and danced around for a while, then they took out their manicure sets and started to work on nails, and give make overs to each other. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.
When the noise starting dwindling down they got out the bowls of popcorn and started watching their movies. Even though I tried to stay out of the way, when they asked me to watch a movie with them, I jumped at the chance. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. After the second movie, one by one, they started falling asleep. All that was left was my daughter and I, at least for a few minutes. With her eyes almost closed, she told me how much she loved her birthday party and thanked me.
When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. I was very impressed with their thoughtfulness in helping me out. They shared a couple of more hours together and then some of the girls had left for home. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the sweet 16 favors I got them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?
